Mission of PAC Studios

At PAC Studios, we celebrate different textures, environments, and mediums through the continual creation of 2D and 3D arts. Art is meant to be used and enjoyed, and with that in mind, the items produced here at PAC Studios will always fulfill one or the other, but oftentimes both. The artist behind the site is P. Alex Caro, a life-long practitioner of ceramic arts who also has a passion for sculpture, watercolor painting, drawing, woodworking, and other mixed media creations.

About P. Alex Caro, Artist & Owner

P. Alex Caro (PAC) began learning about ceramics at the age of 8 and has been passionate about the medium ever since. He earned his BFA from Emporia State University in 2010 with a double major in Ceramics and Sculpture. PAC has worked in a variety of studio settings prior to and throughout college, including the Kansas City Clay Guild and the Emporia Arts Center. While studying at ESU, he also developed a passion for teaching ceramic arts to students of all ages, and taught a variety of age-based classes at the Emporia Arts Council for their summer programs. Since graduation, PAC has been building his portfolio of ceramics, sculpture, and watercolor. He continues to create and build his portfolio while also participating in various consignment settings, artist fair booths, and submitting to national and international contests.

About Shawna Caro, Manager & Owner

Shawna Caro earned a BA and two Master’s degrees from Emporia State University in the fields of English, Composition, and Secondary Education. While studying at ESU, she met Alex and the rest is—as they say—history. Shawna helps with all areas of the business that happen outside of the ceramics studio while also providing feedback and quality control checks on all items and artworks produced. Her creative role in PAC Studios is set to expand this year (2025) with the creation of children’s books and other writing and editing services.
